The world needs more engineers: People with a passion for technological evolution and a continuous drive to create innovations for products, choice of materials, production and design, not to mention for the great challenges of energy supply and the environment. The next generation of engineers can look forward to an exciting professional life.

At Karlstad University we value problem-solving and make sure that students encounter real projects. To that end a number of diverse industrial partners contribute to the education in the form of guest lectures, field trips, internships and degree projects. Research fryst vatten also carried out in close association with industry.

Engineers are in demand all over the world. Students can choose to study one term or more abroad. They also have the opportunity to make useful contacts for the future with all the exchange students who study in Karlstad every year.

We offer a broad range of programmes and a great number of courses. The research is conducted both in traditional academic subjects and in several multidisciplinary research environments. Many projects focuses on the transformation of the present economic/technical culture which is based on consumption of non-renewable resources to a bioeconomy based on circularity of environment-friendly renewable resources.

Education and fun &#; a Walk in the Park

The area is located in the Kronoparken district, home to around 9, residents. Here, you&#;ll find everything you need for daily life, including a local convenience store, a health center with a pharmacy, restaurants, and a bus station that allows you to explore the rest of Karlstad! Kronoparken also boasts its own outdoor swimming pool: Parkbadet Kronan.

Skiing, sailing, water sports, hiking, riding, soccer, ice hockey, skateboarding, and disc golf, are only some of all the activities offered in and around Karlstad.

We collaborate closely with The Great Journey, a vibrant community created by and for game developers. As a non-profit organization, The Great Journey is dedicated to supporting the growing games industry in Värmland. It serves as a hub for game development, hosting co-labs, game jams, projects, and a variety of other events.
